Strike
A strike was called on July 16 over claims by Federal Union No. 18,545 to the right to represent production and maintenance workers at Kohler Co. The strike took a violent turn before the National Labor Relations Board held an election on September 27 and directed the company to recognize the Kohler Workers Association as the new bargaining agent.
