We are committed to the worldwide movement to address serious and growing environmental issues such as climate change, environmental destruction and resource depletion. Kohler Co. launched its formal sustainability program in 2008.
Our strategy, when properly conceived and executed, should not be about compromise or massive tradeoffs. It should be a win for the consumer, a win for the associate, a win for the environment, and a win for the company.
In 2008, Kohler reset its strategy to more earnestly drive sustainability. Our three-part strategy:
1. Environmental Footprint. Reduce our carbon and solid waste footprint by 4 percent annually with a goal of being net zero, with offsets, by 2035.
2. Sustainable Products. Drive new products and technologies that are sustainable in use and method of manufacture.
3. Communication and Education. Use our global presence to educate consumers, our associates and the trade on water conservation and sustainability.
Since our beginning, Kohler Co. has maintained a deep commitment to our employees, the community and the environment. We demonstrate this dedication by incorporating environmental, health and safety considerations into all company activities.
As you’d expect from a company that consistently exceeds expectations for design, innovation and creativity, we go above and beyond in our efforts to be good stewards of the environment and create safe, healthy work environments. Our environmental, health and safety principles reflect a fundamental set of beliefs that guide Kohler associates every day. Our family of businesses includes:
