We had to upgrade to this spout for our new bathroom remodel, after installation of our expanse bathtub, the standard spout that came with our Devonshire trim kit was barely not deep enough to pass the top edge of the tub.  We purchased this spout to push it into the bathtub farther and are glad we did!  When the plumber came back to install he was glad that he had secured the plumbing inside the wall.  This spout is very heavy and requires  securely attached plumbing.
