This bath tub is a nightmare to clean.  It has the whole bottom covered in grip strips that you can't see in the picture or the description.  I have had it two years and every time someone takes a shower in it you have to clean it.  It's not like these people have dirty feet either.  Some how the slip grips can retain any oil or dirt washed off your body and you can see a  color change even the first time it is used.  On top of that, you can't really get it clean with a regular bathroom cleaner.  The only cleaner I find works is Kohler Cast Iron cleaner and 20 minutes of scrubbing each direction around the numerous slip grips.  The cleaner is super expensive and like I stated, if you want to have a clean looking tub you have to scrub it after each use. I'm so sorry I bought this tub!!

Only buy this tub if you want to scub it everyday after everu use.

First one was damaged in shipping.  They promptly shipped a new one, no questions asked.  Was a bit of a wait but that was understandable since it was coming from Wisconsin.

Replacement

We just put in this bathtub. We haven't even used it, just put water in to make sure the plumbing was ok. Drained water and see all sorts of small orange rust spots. We already paid contractor to put tub and tile in. Do NOT BUY Kohler the quality is not there. We feel stuck. Don't know what to do now.

Poor Quality

Kohler gave me a tub that is defective. Had a rep from Kohler come out to look at it. The fiberglass around the whole tub is not up “ not up to Kohler standards” is what I was told. This was noticed after tub was installed unfortunately. I’m sure I’m not only one that got a tub like this. It’s prettier clear it should have never distributed for sale. It’s been 5 months and I’m still wait for a resolution! Don’t buy from Kohler beware!!

Too shallow

So far we've had two of these tubs delivered with cottage cheese like enamel finishes.  A cast iron tub should have a smooth enamel surface.  Disappointing quality from a company like Kohler and now I left trying to find an alternative.

Unimpressed

We had a Kohler Bellwether cast iron tub installed as part of a complete bathroom remodel. After it was installed and walls tiled, we noticed it was discolored (bluish gray) in a band around the tub about 4 inches from the bottom and also in spots on the bottom of the tub. We thought it might be a shadow but after reading reviews of the tub, and upon closer inspection,  it appears the cast iron is showing through the enamel. Photos show the discoloration (tub is new - this is not a bad bathtub ring!). Worried we will be dealing with a rusting tub in the near future.

Don't buy!

There is a significant flaw in the casting that should have been caught and ground out before it was enameled. Now the enamel is rough in that spot and has some thin spots that  I am afraid will rust during use. I did not see the flaw until I had the tub moved into the bathroom and the packing was removed. Poor quality control and very disappointing considering the expense of purchasing, delivering and moving this tub into place.

Poor QC

As the result of a total remodel we had a Kohler Bellwether Cast Iron  RH Biscuit Color Three Wall Alcove Soaking Tub installed in our main bathroom last August. Later we noticed a well defined, dingy, dirty looking discoloration on each narrow end of the tub. We were told by four or five professionals that it is "just a shadow" caused by the sloping of the upper part of the tub sides. Nothing can be done and we are stuck with this tub.
