Beautiful tub with clean lines and deep soaker ability

Great tub

Tub is deep and nice, havent used it yet but its installed!

Underscore® 60" x 32" alcove bath

Lisa A.

This was exactly the tub I had been searching for, wide and deep for soaking. We also use it for showering. It had 6 large legs about 3" high so the plumber did not use any mortar to bed it. It's beautiful! But when showering the floor flexes and creaks a lot. After enduring the creaking for a little over a year I finally decided it had to be stopped. Decided to open the wall on the other side and install spray foam under the tub. when I opened the wall discovered that the slotted drain leaks every time the shower is used. Not a flood but over. time it could lead to the floor rotting. the plumber came back and removed the bracket that pulls the drain/gasket tight to the tub wall. The fiberglass is very rough and the bracket has two screws on the top and only one in the middle on the bottom. This makes it impossible to compress the gasket sufficiently against the rough fiberglass at the bottom of the opening to prevent leakage at the corners. he squeezed in some silicone between the tub and the bottom of the gasket and tightened the screws as tight as he dared to. It actually did create a slight deflection in the fiberglass. I reinstalled the cover and put a bead of clear silicone around the top and sides of the cover and verified that the leakage had been stopped. I filled the tub with water and installed rigid and expanding foam (great stuff big crack filler) . I now have a tub that feels solid and doesn't creak when I step into it to shower and haven't seen any sign of leakage

Great design, Flawed Execution

2 are damaged and need to be replaced with new tubs

I purchased a biscuit Kohler Underscore alcove tub K-1957-LA-96. Major scratch/crack in apron too deep to buff out - you could feel it with your hand. It had been on back order for 28 days then 14 days shipping to receive it. It was returned to Kohler.

The contractor was ready to install it and found the major defect. Bathroom out of commission and remodel delayed.

I immediately reordered it from a local home improvement store in order to get it quicker as this was a special order item due to color. It still took 2 weeks to get. Bathroom still out of commission and remodel delayed longer.

The contractor was ready to install it today and found a crack in the lower right corner of the apron. The crack went all the way through. In addition the legs were not level across the bottom. The first tub had square bottom legs that were level. The second tub had round bottom legs that were cut at crazy angles. I don't get it. Very poor workmanship. One of the cut off legs was in the box.

I have company coming for my son's wedding on 7/15/23, and I had to get the tub installed today. I could not suffer through another who knows how long to get a replacement tub. The tub will need to be repaired as soon as possible.

Please, please, please revise the packaging of this tub. It does not offer nearly enough protection. I don't understand why a large company such as Kohler can't do their utmost to provide adequate protection so your products don't suffer damage. Consumers end up suffering due to hassles, delays, headaches. Your business in turn will end up suffering. Who wants to go through all of this?

For protection, both of these tubs had a small foam corner in the corners and no protection for the apron. The crack on the first tub was on the apron. The crack on the second tub was just above the small foam corner. For special order items especially where an immediate replacement or even somewhat timely replacement is not possible, it's critical to protect these tubs.

I'm very disappointed in Kohler. I expected more from your company.

I'll choose differently next time.

Incredibly disappointed

My product was difficult to track, and was damaged when it arrived. The words, TO THIN was written around the drain and once installed a small crack appeared in the corner. Cost was over $1000 and we have only had the tub less than a month. A professional plumber installed the tub and due to tile being laid, the tub hasn't yet been used.

The tub came cracked along the edge that we were able to hid once the tile was installed. On the inside of the tup around the drain was written in pencil, the words TO THIN. After install a crack in the corner was noticed.

When the unexpected opportunity came up to replace our 50 year old tub and surround, we decided to do it right. I am 6' 3" 240. I need fixtures that are size appropriate. This tub is wide and deep. it provides ample room to soak and shower. Simplicity of design with function in mind. it paired well with our tile choice and according to the contractor was simple to install. We are very happy with our choice

Up grade to a deep, soaking tub

Unit (1957-LA-0) I purchased from major retailer distributor had a manufacturing date of 05/28/2021 (Friday, Memorial Day weekend, end of the day) and it has very poor quality build. It was very disappointing to receive such quality product after waiting for it for over 3 weeks. Fiberglass backing that supports acrylic shell was not sprayed evenly/correctly. Light test in the dark shows just how thin one of the walls is. In few spots light is so bright... I would not even attempt to install the unit as it would fail very prematurely under load.

Very Poor Build Quality
