First tub had missing fiberglass reinforcement which caused weak areas, crack and loose structural braces. Second tub had the drain hole so off center and drilled through with almost no reveal to attach drain. And even then I could get it centered. Third tub was mostly good to go except the bottom of drain hole is rough and not smooth to allow the gasket to lay flat. I use silicone regardless but this should not be like this. The American Standard Studio tub appears to be built better and more consistant and is cheaper. Kohler needs to start managing their quality control better. This is embarrassing for a company that typically has good quality products. Hopefully the rest of their product lines don’t have issues.

Horrible Quality Control

We bought this as part of a bathroom remodel and it was delivered promptly. When we finally did install it, we noticed there were several scratches on the apron side, but the box had not been damaged. However, Kohler customer service was great - they were very understanding and accomodating and sent a repairman out to polish out the scratches. The tub looks as good as new and we really like the clean, modern lines.
