The tub is absolutely beautiful; however, the first one I ordered came with a large chip, so they sent me another one. The second one, upon quick inspection, looked perfect (the shiny white finish makes it hard to see flaws). Once the tilers were done, dirt got on the tub, and when I was cleaning it, I noticed a couple of stress fractures. Kohler sent someone to inspect it, and they told me these types of cracks aren't noticeable until dirt gets in them. They only get worse over time and will eventually rust within a couple of years. There’s nothing we can do except replace it. I have now spent $10k on a new bathroom, only to have to rip it up in a few years... sad and disappointing. DO NOT BUY THIS TUB! Also, the bottom is extremely hard to clean, and I have yet to find anything that removes the stains. I will not use Kohler again.

BIG ISSUES

Remodeling a guest bath and needed to bring it into the 21st century. Looked at a lot of products but this was, by far, the most elegantly designed, modern looking tub in its class and price range. Nothing beats Kohler cast iron tubs. This is the 2nd one I have bought for a remodel.

Our kick drain stopped working well after a few months.  Good luck trying to find a simple instruction on how to coax it.

We have order 3 tubs so far and each one has had cracks in the enamel that can be felt when rubbed with a fingernail. It has delayed our renovations and has caused us to change tub manufacturers and types altogether. We had high hopes as the Kohler brand is highly considered. Extremely disappointed.

We bought this a month ago, had it installed and it got stained very easily. Now the stains won’t come off. We’ve contacted customer service but no response yet. Be careful with this tub. It’s a beautiful design. Short due to ADA compliance so not for taller than average adults. The tub was very heavy and took 3 people to move it. Don’t try to move it by yourself.

In the major hardware stores the old standard is stocked, this model has clean square lines and looks fresh and modern for slightly more than Home Depot.

I felt I should add my review after reading the other reviews. I had my Villager installed 10 years ago and it's still great. Cast iron tubs keep the water warm longer than other types.  When I got my tub, there were some marks on it where the plastic wrap had some how heated up and put some brown marks on the tub (while the tub was being held in stock at the hardware store). However, I wasn't about to be deterred. I scrubbed those marks with everything I could find and finally got them out.  Just as others have said, I got a lot of complaints from the installers, because they don't want to deal with such a heavy tub.  It took 4 guys (250 to 300 pounds each) to install my tub.  Imagine all those guys in my tiny 1950s era bathroom all at the same time! Ten years later, I still love my tub.  It goes just fine with my 1955 rambler home.  I don't know why anyone would have taken the original cast iron tub out of my bathroom, but it's back where it belongs.  Thanks Kohler.
