This cutting board came with my Kohler sink I bought. But the original board got old and stained and didn’t look nice anymore, so that’s why I bought a new one. I think you have to dry it with a towel after it gets wet because otherwise it gets dark spots which look like black mold.   I like how the board fits perfectly on the sink, so you can store it there if you want.

When finally renovating our kitchen two years ago, I was thrilled to find the Prolific sink with the fitted basin, colander, drying racks and cutting board - a great concept. Within six months, the cutting board developed a crack. I should have complained then but given the pandemic, there were other things to worry about. Today, the cutting board split and I’ve discovered this not well-made bamboo replacement is going to cost me $80. I have cutting boards I’ve used for our 30 years of marriage that are still great. This cutting board barely lasted two years. It had normal use and normal cleaning. It’s not like I soaked it or put it in a dishwasher. Disappointing.

After only a couple years of normal use, and normal (not obsessive) regular cleaning and care, the board started mildewing and has become badly mildewed, in spite of two rounds of soaking in bleach solution and retreating with cutting board oil.  And at $80 for a replacement, it's not a very good deal at all.

Really Disappointed

I like the idea of having a larger cutting board for my Prolific sink (which I LOVE), but this cutting board suffers from some issues that could be improved on to make a more useable accessory:  (1) the current design does not permit running the faucet without either removing the board entirely or having the water run all over the board; and (2) it would be helpful to have a board that fits into the sink on the indentations rather sitting above the sink.  If you come up with this design, I would be the first to recommend it.  Thanks.

Practical problems to use

This is the second board I've bought.  The first one, that came with our sink, cracked and completely broke. I use it everyday.  Just a piece of advise.  ALWAYS OIL THE BOARD. before using.  I use Boos oil for overnight.  Wipe any residue and coat it with the Boos creme.  Another overnight.    Wipe any residue and you're ready to go!!  Actually I have 2 boards now.  If you use it a lot, it would be best!!  Enjoy!

Love this board

This Kohler Prolific sink is a dream! It is a work station. Eliminates the need for colanders, cutting boards, sink liners and drying racks! Plus it is beautiful. I love it.
