Leaks out the back of the tub spout installed by master plumber not an installation issue

I loved the look of this set but have had nothing but problems from this faucet. Have tried to make it work 3 times (including going directly to Kohler for troubleshooting)  and it continually leaks out of the bottom when you engage the shower. My plumber  advised me that it’s a poor design. Now I have to return it, hope
I find a fixture that works and then pay to put the new one on. DO NOT BUY

I would not recommend this product. It looks nice but we are consistently getting water leakage out the back of the bath spout along the wall. This is occurring even though we followed instructions point for point.
