Purchased and installed the shower pan. First person to take a shower heard cracking and some popping.  The entire edge on the door side of the shower cracked and the enamel is coming off.  Now we will need to rip out our brand new tiled shower to try to remedy this pan that Kohler support said is beyond repair. Options are to refund the cost or get shipped a new pan- neither of which deals with the labor and material cost for ripping out the bottom half of the shower walls to remove and then replace with this or another pan.

I recently purchased the shower base and we just completed our bathroom remodel. However, we were about to install the shower glass when I noticed flaking/peeling of the enamel non-slip coating. I contacted Kohler and they sent out a local service representative to evaluate. According to the local rep, the shower base appeared to have a non-slip surface coating sprayed around the sides where it should have been smooth enamel. And this was the area that was flaking/peeling. He believed it was a quality control issue and the base appeared to be incorrectly manufactured. This is extremely dis-heartening, especially after being on the last leg of our 8 month home remodel. Furthermore, we never even used the shower and now have to rip it out and re-tile. This is just pro-longing our remodel and costing thousands of more dollars.
