I have had this in my home for about 8 years now.  I loved it. Never had a problem. The water temp and the design was great. But now, every 3 months or so, it doesnt work. I keep getting a message on the screen that says "Valve Error" I have to keep it unplugged for 2-3 days and then plug it in and it will work.  And, Ive tried numerous times to get in contact with Kohler to find a local service tech in my area without any luck. Phones are always too busy or I never get a call back.  I finally found a plumber that is able to work on it, but now, he wont come to my house any more.  So I'm stuck with a broke shower. 
Also, the dial that turns on the screen, that fell and broke. Now I cant turn it and they dont make a replacement part on it. So I can't adjust the temperature or I have to use a dry cloth and turn it as hard as possible to adjust.  
If I would have known this crap when I first bought it, I would have never went with it and just done the old fashioned knobs.  
I like it when it worked, but now its more of a headache than anything.

Good for a few years, then it breaks.

We installed our Kohler DTV+ digital shower system just before Xmas in our master bathroom and have been loving it ever since.  This is a large shower 4 X 7 foot and we have 5 of the 6 ports active with a rainhead and handheld shower at one end and a standard shower head and two body sprays at the other end.  Because it is digital you get a much cleaner look in the shower with no valves or handles to turn.  Everything is driven directly from the digital interface control panel which looks very cool like a sleek IPhone.  It is very easy to use and was incredibly easy to set up and get operational.  I was the General Contractor on this master bathroom renovation project and Kohler had outstanding support for this DTV+ shower system.  They had detailed documentation that was easy to follow for the best way to set up and install the shower system.  They also had excellent phone support at HQ that I spoke to about 4 times per week leading for the month leading up to the installation.  I was worried this extensive shower might be complex and difficult to install but their help line was patient and very helpful getting me educated on what we had to do and what pitfalls to avoid.  I should also mention their phone support differentiated Kohler by only having Americans from Wisconsin answer the phone and didn’t keep you waiting on hold very long either.  My Kohler Signature Store recommended a plumber who had experience installing DTV+ which was a big help and I found the electrician but if you are the GC and coordinating these contractors I highly recommend you read the documentation ahead of time so you are the expert.  When it came time to get the system operational I was very pleased that it was intuitive and very easy to get it running.  The speakers in the shower sound awesome and were also very easy to play via BLUETOOTH through my IPhone.  The Kohler polished chrome plumbing fixtures were all very high end and excellent quality you would expect from Kohler.  We have used Kohler products for years so we had high expectations.  This DTV+ digital shower system has far exceeded our expectations and we are very happy with the final installation.

Over the Top Digital Shower System

My shower has performed incredibly until yesterday. In the middle showering the side valves shut off as well as the overhead shower. Their functions also disappeared from my interface in the shower itself. I have made several phone calls and no one seems to mnow how to trouble shoot this system.

When showering, stopping, and then resuming the shower this valve cannot start your shower at a consistant temperature.  The temperature varies wildly (Hot, cold, hot cold) until it finally gets to the set temperature.  A inexpensive valve/faucet (manual) will turn back on to the same temp.  Why cant the digital valve do that.  Just open the valve to the same last position and it should be close.

On resume - temp swings wildly

The product is working properly except for the control pad, hard ti initiate.
