This system is so disappointing coming from a company I’d admire greatly and whose products are throughout my entire home. The software and interface is so glitchy, constantly needing reset and is almost impossible to program. The Kohler Kinect app is not much better. Come on Herb, do better with this!!

Could be great…but isn’t :(

I purchased the Controller and six valve system. The manual does not describe what the lights on the power mean for the controller.  Mine starts green, turns red, then turns to flashing between green and red and I can only see on the DTV + display that a UI device is being updated. It has been like this for 4 hours.  Could it really take that long?  The ethernet connection shows two green lights.

DTV+ actually works great, make sure your installer(plumber and electrician) read the installation requirements before install. My outlet is a dedicated circuit and running our system with the 6 valve mod., water pressure is set @60psi running an overhead rain shower, 2 separate his/hers wall mounted shower, his/hers separate body sprayers and 1 hand held. Pressure is great and very responsive to controller inputs. If your system is not functioning correctly, your installer has done something wrong period!

Works great, and installed this system myself

Required this part and the DTV+ Interface when our DTV-I interface display failed after 15 years (control functions were still operable but display was nearly unreadable).  Actual control of the DTV valve system now resides in this electronic module rather in the Interface. The PID algorithm to control temperature is improved over the DTV-I. At the end of a shower, this Module now shuts off the valves one by one rather than all at once (as did the DTV-I), providing almost no water hammer effect - nice! We are not using any other functions besides shower valve control.

Expensive as a DTV-I repair but nice features

We bought the DTV system 4 years ago.  After two different plumbing companies and 3 new steam unit installations, we still have to flip our breaker once/week because the water won't start when you press the button.  Now we have a new valve installation coming.  Kohler has replaced the parts without charge, but the labor is not free.  I have had a AV company expert come to the house to help with it as well to try to problem shoot.  I'm going to have to do that again.

Incredibly frustrating

Before I spent 7,000 on my DTV I was assured by Kohler that with a coming update in a few months (took over a year) I would be able to control my DTV as is with Alexa. Eventually I would find out I would need a 600 adapter to do this. Kohler wouldn't provide my with the part to uphold their promise much less return any of my messages from the tech team who made the promise. Very frustrating, my last resort is to write this review as every other avenue has led to a dead end. I can understand just about any issue, but ignoring customers, giving false information, and bad customer service is unacceptable in this day and age. I guarantee Kohler will respond with "Sorry to hear about your bad experience, please call us to discuss". Been down that road "I'm sorry but I can't help you but I'll be sure to talk to the tech team and have them call you back today or tomorrow".

The whole concept is interesting, but it's poorly implemented.   The unit is unbelievably slow in responding to commands (unbelievable for something as dirt simple as this).   It also is full of bugs where things get displayed out of order, or the thing just stops unexpectedly in mid-shower.    The so-called internet access is useless.   The built in webpages are full of bugs as well and in order to actually do anything useful you have to add yet antoher $600 internet module to the thing.   The thing also regularly trips the ground fault device it is connected to.
