Do not buy a Kohler toilet with a class 5 flapper, they won't flush unless to holld thehandle down

trouble since day one

[Employee of kohler] While renovating my home, I purchased and installed two of these toilets. I have nothing but praise for them. The water saving features are great and they have a clean modern look to them.

Great Toilet with a clean look.

Bought this toilet about 3 months ago and we are very happy with it! Great flush!

Great toilet

KO31918

Did a complete remodel in our master bath earlier this year. At first, after flushing, the water kept running. I took the lid off and gave the black cylindrical part a little twist and it would stop. As time goes on it happens more often. I have noticed an increase in my water bill because we don’t always notice it when we leave the bathroom.
Did I get a defective toilet? Is it fixable? Do I need to tear out all the fancy mechanism inside and replace it with a conventional flapper valve.
I thought I was upgrading by using Kohler brand sinks and toilets, but it doesn’t appear to be so.
I just can’t recommend a toilet with this type of flushing mechanism in it.

Can’t keep it from running

[Employee of kohler] Works great, no clogging issues and very minimal water usage.

Functionality

Sarah S

Within two weeks of having this toilet we had problems. Mad of only the lowest quality plastic and valves. About once a week the toilet will stop filling when flushed. Obnoxious is and understatement. I highly recommend looking towards another brand.

Terrible

I love my sure flush Kohler toilet. It never clogs and everything flushes on the first flush.

Sure Flush

Very happy with my toilet love the height and color

Purchasing a new Kohler toilet online

Kohler does not seem to be alone in their current design of toilets. Instead of a smooth exterior which was the way most all toilets were designed, including the most inexpensive models, they've all gone to molded bases with too many convolutions, indentations and hoes. This make cleaning very difficult and unsanitary. Yes, I know you can spend lots more money on a smooth exterior base but even those don't make cleaning easy given the behind the base spaces that are not accessible. Kohler and others need to include in their design process, people who actually clean these things. VERY AGGRAVATING!!!

Functions well but. . .
